Things to do after 6 pm in Amsterdam

Hello All,

I am reaching Amsterdam at 5.15 pm.I saw that most of the museums are closed after 5.30 pm.

Are there any other things I can do after 6pm in Amsterdam ?
Is the Canal Cruise or City tour (through bus ) feasible ?

Pls let me know

Thanks !

Canal cruises in the evening tend to be candlelight or dinner trips which you need to book in advance. If you do a google you will find various companies offering them.

If you are here on Friday evening after May 1st then the van Gogh Museum has a Friday night opening.

Otherwise just wander the streets, and enjoy the atmosphere. It will still be very lively in the evenings and that can be enjoyable in itself.

What time of year? For much of the year it will be light until 9 pm - giving you time to explore a lot of this charming city.

I saw some very cool street performers by chance later one evening in a square in the Leidseplein district (fire dancers and stuff).

Looks like it's only open until 6 on Fridays at the Hermitage:

Amsterdam is a great walking-around (or biking- or boating-around) city. That's what I'd do after 6pm in April.

If you are staying in Amsterdam, ask the hotel for a good brown bar near you. It won't pick up until after 9 PM, but a very interesting aspect of Amsterdam history.

Sama Sebo for dinner.
