The Hotel Luzern or Art Deco Montana in Lucerne?

I am trying to decide between these two hotels for a 4 night summer stay. The Hotel Luzern is written up all over the place and I do like the idea of a design boutique hotel, but I am concerned with how dark it is and if it will be noisy. I love the lake view from the Montana (and it does not look as though The Hotel Luzern has any view). The Montana looks a little "generic" (though nice). Does anyone have experience with these hotels to share? Thanks!

We stayed at the Montana once and the views out over the lake are incredible. It is definitely a more traditional type hotel.

Just be aware it isn;t right in the center of the town - and I believe there was a small elevator to get you from lake level up to that of the hotel.

You want a view or do you want to be within walking distance of various sights? if the latter, consider the Des Balances...nothing "dark" there and a great restaurant on site, too
