The ÖBB Site

I just looked at the new ÖBB scheduler site and it is spiffy. But, I could find no English version. Is there one? If so, I failed to find the right spot to activate it.

I can handle the German, usually, if I have my dictionary handy, but many people cannot.

I think the site would be very useful because it now integrates bus schedules when such transportation is needed. e.g. check out getting to St. Wolfgang. The bus connections are fully integrated.

So anyone know if an English version of the Austrian site is available and, if it is, how do you find it?

Since I'm not sure which you are reviewing not sure I can help. Is there a tiny e anywhere at the top or bottom of the page? Give the website address...

Hi. I have known for a long time that the German site has an English version. There have been times in the past when the Austrian site gave better information for Romania and Bulgaria -- not alway of course.

When I saw the new Austrian site, I was struck by two facts: It is more readible and it has more complete info.

Knowing that most educated Austrians can speak fluent English, I was a little surprised that no English version was indicated. I looked for the "en" and any other clue that might have led me to the English version.

I failed to find it. I went back a second time and looked again with the same results.

The two sites provided by akiace solved the problem. The first site returns an error 404 at the moment, but the other one does indeed lead to the English version, which seems to have a couple of useful features that the German version does not have.

At any rate, the new site in English or German is another rail time table source for eastern Europe that I expect will be useful to some of us traveling in that part of Europe.

I am still wondering why the German version of this useful site does not have an obvious linkage to the English version. Perhaps my eyes need better glasses, or cataract surgery.
