Terminal change for US Airways at Madrid Barajas

US Airways' flights will now be leaving Madrid, Barajas Airport, from T4 instead of T1.

Actually, since USAirways and American have merged and USAirways has joined the OneWorld alliance there will be a lot of these terminal moves going on. USAirways is changing terminals at Heathrow next week, for example.

I assumed it was a merger.. just didn´t understand the "congratulations" comment. I'm glad I accidentally found out because after so many years of leaving from T1 I would not have ever even thought to check on the termina, as i was oblivious to the merger.

Yes, I understand. I think in the case of Heathrow the aim is to group as many OneWorld Alliance members as possible in the same check-in and gate area to facilitate transfers, etc.

T1 is reserved for the "other" airlines, including Delta.

Good news-Ilove T4! Now we will be the first on the airport bus! It was so crowded by the time it reached T1!
On the way back, it will of course be the opposite, last off!

From Avenida de América depot stop there are two separate buses. But that area is only good for the Salamanca area hotels ( Abba is across the street/ a Marriott AC nearby, too).

Why the mention of the Avenida de America stop/hotels?
I always get off the airport bus at Cibeles!

This info was not for you.. but for those closer to the underground depot at Avenida America. There is BUS 200 that goes to the airport. However, contrary to before the yellow airport bus existed, there are no longer two separate buses for the terminals for Avenida de America.( just checked)

The 200 bus goes first to T1, then T2,3 and lastly to T4..like the yellow bus. They have eliminated one of the buses. But it is good to know about this station as it MAY be closer to some people's hotels than the yellow bus route, that's all.

I have stayed at the AC and Abba a block across the street and found it very convenient when I had meetings in that area... which one never knows who is reading these posts.

you asked "why the mention of the Avenida de america depot stops.and hotels". I was just explaining WHY I mentioned that. Thought it might be useful for someone ELSE reading this.

I guess I am missing something here.

and this has what to do w/terminal change?
You are confusing the post w/irrelevant info-not asked for!
Start another topic w/different vuses departing from the airport and then your post would make more sense!

sorry if this has totally confused or upset you. My post on terminal change evolved into this. What do you want me to do?.. have them delete it? Your comment about the bus made me think about the other BUS.. No harm done, is there? People going to the airport interested in terminal change MAY also be interested in the bus..

Sorry to have made no sense to people reading this. I guess that's what happens when I get spontaneously inspired by people's comments. I will try to contain myself in the future and stick to the original idea. Thanks.
