Tempature on Greek Islands in October
Hello,
Does anybody know what the weather will be like in late October on the Island of Rhodes.
I'm not sure what to pack. Spending the last two weeks in Lindos, Rhodes. We want to travel very light. I appreciate any help, thanks.

We were in Crete and Hydra for the first two weeks of October and the weather was sunny and warm. Even at night it wasn't cold but that may have been an exceptional year. You can check historical weather averages on -

Click on History Data under Local Travel at the bottom left of the screen.
We found on that trip that it was definitely the 'end of the season', with fewer tourists and near-empty restaurants with staff standing around looking a bit bored. Also some shops had closed. Rhodes may be different. I would take mostly light clothing with one warm outfit - pants and warm top.

Rhodes should still be warm at that time, but nowhere near the high summer temperatures and you could get rain.
You should also be aware that lots of hotels, restaurants and bars are closing at that time of the year outside of Rhodes town.

I like the link provided by KayF. To make it easier for you, here it is again with weather stats for the last half of October: http://www.wunderground.com/history/...atename=Greece.
As you can see, high temperatures on Rhodes during that period have ranged anywhere from the mid 60s to the mid 80s, with sunny or partly cloudy days most of the time. Sea temperatures in late October are about the same as in late May, so on warm sunny days you should be able to swim. Weather will be ideal for walking around and exploring the ancient sites.
As for clothes, again I agree with KayF: mostly light clothing, but something warm to wear on chilly evenings. A light windproof jacket would come in handy, maybe a cardigan or sweater too. If you live in a temperate climate you will probably need something warm for your trip from home anyway, so you needn't pack anything special.
