Hi all
We will arrive in London the day before my daughter turns 8 in September.
I was thinking maybe a "high tea" somewhere and a spin on the eye could be good ways to celebrate.
Does anyone have suggestions for a nice child-friendly place to take tea?
Any other suggestions for the perfect 8 year old birthday in London?
We will be staying right near the Tower of London.
My daughter is a little bit "fancy" and likes to dress up and go out (the rest of us are pretty daggy!)

You can have 'Afternoon Tea' lots of places -- note it really isn't what they would call 'High tea' . . . that is a different thing.
The top floor at Fortnum & Mason, the Wolesley, The Orangery at Kensington Gardens (more casual) would all be good
This list is mostly posh/high end hotels http://www.afternoontea.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=135&Itemid=16
Fortnum and Masons 'The Parlour' might be nice - unusual ice cream sundaes, which will be a little bit cheaper than an afternoon tea, and may appeal more to a child than cucumber sandwiches etc.
They have a menu on the website.
Thank you both - I'll see which option takes her fancy. I'm tipping afternoon tea at Kensington Palace but the ice cream parlour looks fantastic too.
How about going to The Lion King. That would be fun, or maybe Wicked.
Actually I've booked tickets to Matilda for the Wednesday matinee. Sounds great.
" Matilda" is brilliant. Your daughter will love it
