Taxi or Tain from Airport to Rue St. Honore

We're arriving in Paris (CDG) airport, in the late afternoon from the US and. debating whether a taxi or The train would be better, both time, stress, and Money-sise. Any advice?

Rue St Honore is quite long. It'll help to know where on the Rue St Honore you want to be.

How many are we.

The RER (train) will cost 9.10€ each. The train offers the fastest en route times into Paris.

A taxi will cost approximately 50€ to 55€. Taxis typically offer the fastest service from exiting customs to your hotels doorstep.

Your hotel, near Chatelet, is not served efficiently by the Roissybus or one of the AF Buses.

I usually take a taxi.

I think you would need to transfer from the RER to metro line 1 at Chatelet Les Halles, which is dreadful. You are celebrating your 25th anniversary, IIRC? Take a taxi. Yes, a taxi costs more than the RER, but it's nice to get delivered to your hotel/apartment doorway when you arrive.

You mentioned in other post that you are staying at 71/73 rue Saint Honoré for your 25th anniversary. You have to choose which of the factors is important for your anniversary -- you cannot get all three especially that location where RER station is an enormous confusing complex: at least that I always felt when I had to change trains there. From stress wise, taxi is better. For time and money-wise, RER is better, but you are probably heading into town at the beginning of the rush hour with your luggage. The Chatelet-Forum area is a giant construction zone right now.

I don't like walking around Les Halles/Chatelet station area at night. It is one place in the center of Paris I don't feel comfortable walking past young guys just hanging around. There were many other people going the same direction so I was never alone among these young guys.

You could also look at SHuttle Inter. As I recall it was 50 Euro, about the same as a taxi but there is no meter running if yoou get stuck in traffic. It is a private car not a shared van. I booked them on the advice of Fodor's poster Gracejoan who spends months in Paris each year
