Taxi near Univ of Salamanca

Hi I will be around the University area in Salamanca and wanted to take a taxi to the bus station (auto res/avanzabus) on Avenida Filiberto Villalobos at the corner with Calle Arapiles ( I think)

Is it easy to hail a taxi or do I have to call to arrange one?

Thanks

There should be a taxi stand nearby.

There is a taxi stand near the Grand Via and on the Grand Via. Exit the Plaza Mayor to the right and you should see the taxis after a short walk down the street.

I am currently in Salamanca on a 3 week home exchange. I just started, but should have plenty of tips by the end.

Check my blog for updates:

So far I've just done the Cathedral and the Pontifical University and it's church, but I should have a lot of tips by the end of my stay. As usual it's a home exchange--my 54th.

I just took a taxi home tonight at 11:00pm because the buses had quit for the night. Tons of taxis. I just hailed one in the street when I realized there was not going to be a bus.

Thanks for checking the blog.

The buses are quite easy to use in Salamanca but they do not run past midnight. So, if you are going to be out late at night in Salamanca and are not staying in the central old city area, you might want to consider a taxi. I think it was less than 7 euro to my house from downtown. Even though you do not have to tip, I gave the driver 8 euros. I was just so glad to get home when I realized it was too late for a bus.
