We are in Florence and want to call a taxi in a couple of days to get to the rental car office, but don't know how. Anyone got an answer?

Have your hotel call one for you?
If you're in an apartment, go to a taxi rank and jot down the number or speak to a driver there. You can find those at the train station, there's one by the Santa Croce church, and I've seen them near there by the Bernini Palace hotel just south of the Barghello. I'm sure there are others around, as well.
From the Florence Tourist Board.

Grazie Mille!. We are staying in an apt. I will check a taxi rank tomorrow while we are walking around, And also the tourist board. Or the tourism info office. Good ideas.
