TAP Air Portugal - Recent Experiences

One of the airlines I'm considering. Never flown with them.

Looking for comments.

Also, will transfer in Lisbon. More comments?

Thanks.

'Take Another Plane' airlines?

Seriously, they are fine. Nice personnel, sometimes a bit lackadaisical on check in, and often running late. I don´t hesitate to take them, but I do keep my fingers crossed for connections.

The bigger problem is the luggae handling in Lisbon. They outsource it and our luggage was consistently lost. It seems better now though.

Lisbon is a small airport so it should be easy to transfer. I only flew into and out of Lisbon once but it was a good experience.

I recently had an option of transferring in Lisbon with TAP or in Frankfurt with Lufthansa and, upon the recommendation of a friend, chose Frankfurt and Lufthansa over TAP. I don't have an first-hand experience with TAP but that was the advice I was given.

We've flown TAP three times in the last year, Madrid-Lisbon, Madrid-Porto and Lisbon-Madrid without any problems. The are a member of the Star Alliance, so we get our mileage, and the service has been good. As noted, the Lisbon airport is small and easy to get around.

We've never flown internationally with them, but I do know they server some excellent wine.

We flew TAP a couple of weeks ago, from Lisbon to London. The flight was one-hour late, but I'd used United miles for our tickets and was surprised to find out we were in Business class and that entitled us to use the TAP airport lounge.

Wow-- what a great surprise, as we were needing to get lunch. This lounge is spectacular. Very nicely designed, LOTS of appetizer-sized food like open-faced shrimp sandwiches, lox sandwiches, proscuitto, etc. Plus every drink you can imagine: champagne, wine, beer, juices, waters, etc. Also custard tarts and other little desserts.

It was a huge treat.

The flight was fine. It left one-hour late, but I was wishing it would be delayed more, so we could luxuriate in the lounge with our wi-fi and our libations. haha

Late seems to be part of their schedule!

We flew LHR - LIS in March and it was fine.

OPO-EWR plane was two hours late but service was better than average. Food was actually not too bad. Seats in coach are not for tall people or 'full figured people' very very cramped.

I would not hesitate to fly with them again.

I am to fly Tap, Portugal from Miami to Lisbon, and Lisbon to Paris in tourist class.
What I am really concerned is room between seats , can any one tell me about seats in overseas flights, I checked and it is an Airbus
330-200 (332) pitch in tourist is 32.0 , width 18.00 ...206 standard seats.
Than ks

Look at the site 'Seat Guru'. It lists every airline with full up to date details
of their aircraft including seat space.

I like to fly with Air Portugal. The are friendly, professional, good food, etc.
I never had a problem with delays, except if there were a strike in Portugal or in the country where I was flying.
When I can chosse, I will choose this airline for European flights. Overseas I don´t know if how they are.
