Taking previous advice on last day in Paris to stay at Gare Lyon hotel

Will eat at Train Bleau as suggested. Is there somewhere we can wander in that area before dinner? We're gettng in about 3:30 from Avignon. Also, what is dress code for Train Blue?

You can walk on the Promenade Plantée that is above the Av. Daumesnil.

Ditto Michael.

Anything goes at the Train Blue - it is a train station so many people dine at the Train Blue before/after a train trip. We do business casual - but there will be people in jeans too.

I thought about the Promenade Plantée too. And maybe the Canal St.Martin ? Between the Seine river ( Quai de la Rappée) and Place Bastille, you can walk on the water level.

That isn't very far from the Bastille area, there are lots of small shops and things in that area worth walking aroudn, I suppose. Just walk from the Gare up to the Bastille column and then wander in the area to the NE of there or down fgb St Antoine and sq Trousseau and through place d'Aligre back to the Gare. The marche d'Aligre won't have outside vendors if it is late afternoon, but there are other regular vendors around there. http://marchedaligre.free.fr/info.htm

Depends how much one wants to wander around.

I recommend to walk in Park Becy, which is very close to Garde de Lyon. You can see there Bercy Arena ( the modern construction of Palais Omnisports). The park is big, well organized, it has small lakes and hidden pathways. You will can have a pleasant stroll there.
