We are a family of 6 adults flying into Zurich on 14 June at 1030am and leave Basel on 16 June at 1930 for Venice.
We would like to take in some sights of Switzerland, enjoy the scenery and breathe the fresh air. I would appreciate any advice on the following:
1. What is a possible itinerary?
a) Travel 3.5 hours to Zermatt and stay there the whole time? or
b) Day 1 - Zurich, Day 2 - Lucerne and tilis, Day 3 Berne and Basel
I welcome any other suggestions.
2. For itinerary b - should I drive or take a train? What kind of terrrain would I be driving on?
3. Can someone help me work out an estimate of the cost of train. While I have been told that there are various passes and special discounts - I could not work it out from the website.. Which pass is most inexpensive for itinerary b.?
4. Any other pertinent information and tips help our family have a meaningful and memorable holiday in Switzerland?
Thanks

Augustine1608,
Did you do this trip? What itinerary did you decide? I am planning something similar (but with a few more days available) and asking some of the same questions. Thanks for the update
