Switzerland Itinerary Help!

First of all, thank you in advance!!
We are excited about nature, outdoorsy activities (hiking, kayaking, biking but nothing too intense), good eats, old architecture, and rustic charming towns (and charming people!).

Hotel near Zurich Airport

8/30 - 9/1  2 nights Murren
Train/Cable car 3 hrs 17 minutes from Zurich Airport to Murren

9/1 - 9/2 ?? Lucerne or Murren? or should we stay in Lucerne this night and add another destination at the end like Zug ?

9/2 - 9/3 1 night Lucerne
Train/Cable car 2 hrs 55 mins to Lucerne from Murren

9/3 Leaving
1 hr train to from Lucerne to Zurich airport to catch flight at 11:55 AM

"2 nights Murren"

That basically means 1 day in Murren. If the weather is bad, you might have to skip some or all of the sites you consider highest priority. If visiting the Bernese Oberland is your highest priority, seriously consider giving it more time. There's plenty to do there to fill ALL your time in Switzerland. (I'm not saying that's what you SHOULD do -- just providing a comment.)

Enjoy!

In 4 days, you can't see much of Switzerland. If Muerren and Lucerne are your priorities, your plan makes sense. But keep in mind a plan B for bad weather as you couldn't do anything at Muerren in this case.
I suppose you know that Muerren may not be the best base for biking and kayaking; but it's fine for hiking.

I realize Murren and Bernese Oberland are kind of hit or miss as far as weather... but, so it goes, right!? Is end of August/beginning of September any different? We are looking forward to navigating the small towns so it's not only views that we're up for. And yeah, we could spend our whole time there... but we'd love to see something else too. I've been researching so much and everybody seems to love it up there, so I kept coming back to it. There were a lot of places on the list like: Stein am Rhein for the architecture, Schaffhausen, Bern, Zug. I've racked my brain trying to come up with a great plan.

I understand this isn't a long vacation (which is an add on to our trip staying with family in Sweden), but we're trying to fit in the time we can and see some great places, eat some great food and enjoy Switzerland.
