Good Morning Folks,

Does anyone have a good website to find alpine slides in Switzerland...the Berner Oberland in particular. We going there this summer and was looking for interesting things to do....Any other suggestions, we've go the hiking and biking covered, would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks....

Hi skiobx,

I'm not sure what you mean by "alpine slide" -- do you mean Rodelbahn, the summer-type of toboggan? If so, there's one in Gstaad, one at Pilatus, and one in Kanderstag -- according to a goodle search.

Sorry I don't have any personal knowledge of one --

i saw one in switzerland a last summer and i believe that it was called "luge" or perhaps some variant of that word indicating that it is the non-ice variety.

skiobx, the one in Kanderstag that swandav mentions is the one that I came across while doing my research for the BO area. I also plan on doing one

To reach the Rodelbahn from the Kandersteg train station, walk through town and ride the chairlift up:

www.oeschinensee.ch

Click on the words to get the menu in English or German, and you will find information on both the Rodelbahn (toboggan run), and the chairlift.

Have lunch at the Hotel Oeschinensee and walk around the lake if you have the time.

Thanks all for the suggestions...I checked out the Rodelbahn in Kanderstag which is exactly what I was looking for....We'll be in Luzern for a few days before we head to the BO area, so we'll try to squeeze that in. I'll also check to see about the one at Pilatus. ...
