Switching Trains from Nice to Cinque Terre

I need to take three different trains to get from Nice to Monterosso (Cinque Terre). At Ventimiglia, I will have 20 minutes to transfer from the Nice train to the Trenitalia train. How far will I have to walk to get to the second train and is 20 minutes enough time?

Twenty minutes should be okay. I have only done it once and what I remember is that you have to go downstairs to go under the tracks and back up the stairs to get to the platform that the Trenitalia train leaves from. Pack light so that you are able to do this easily is my best advice.

Most of the trains involved are regional trains, so if you miss a train, you just get on the next one. If the next train is not a regional train, you have to upgrade your ticket. Make sure to stamp your ticket before boarding each train. That's what establishes which train you'll be using the ticket on.
