Dear All, I am somewhat confused about the Swiss transfer ticket.
I will be working in Geneva for 2 months. My schedule will be pretty hectic, and I will not have much time to travel, which is why the railpasses won't work for me.
Can I use the Swiss transfer ticket from Geneva to Appenzel or Zurich for a weekend? It would be cheaper than a round-trip ticket, but I am not sure if I would be eligible, since I would not be transferring from an airport and would be living in Geneva for 2 months.
If I can use the Transfer ticket, it would be great! I understand I need to purchase passes now - before leaving for Europe - I will have a better idea of my schedule once there.
I'd appreciate your advice,
Saira

The short answer is: NO
Swiss Transfer Ticket can be used from your entry point to your first base (on the most direct route) and from your last base on the most direct route to your exit point. It is NOT for week-end trips - see www.swisstransportsystem.ch -.
