Swiss Pass upgrade for a route

Hi,
I would be buying a second class swiss pass for 8 days. However for one route only and that is from Zweisimmen to Montreux (switzerland) I want to upgrade it to 1st class. It is a panaromic view Train. Can I upgrade it to first class only for one route? And how much would it cost me? And on which website can I do it?
Thanks

As I understand you can and you do it on the day. However from information from other posters the only sets worth doing this for are the VIP seats. There aren't many of these and they sell very quickly. I have traveled this route several times and found the normal non panoramic trains second class seats are fine. The website you want is the Golden Pass marketing site.

Hi,
Thanks guys.
I see that I have to pay the differential amount between the first class and the second class for that specific route before boarding. And I have to show the rail pass and pay only the difference amount.

One more query, On the golden pass journey Train from Spiez to Zweisimmen reaches at 12:19 and from Zweisimmen to Montreux departs at 12:25. Are these 6 mins enough to get to the right platform to board panaromic Train? Besides, the SBB website does not show from which platform this panaromic Train will depart from Zweisimmen to Montreux.

Thanks

The trains are most of the time one in front of the other (despite the somewhat exotic track numbers mentioned in the SBB timetable).
Goldenpass 2119 waits ALWAYS if Regio Express 4069 from Spiez arrives late.

Yes everyone gets off one train at Zweisimmen and gets on a waiting train IME there a few times - only changes trains because of track gauge differences - from narrow gauge to normal gauge so trains cannot physically roll thru - I would not worry about first class on the Zweisimmen to Spiez portion - no more dramatic scenery from there on.

VIP seats are great (only on the Montreux-Zweisimmen part I believe but not sure) - you sit in a compartment next to the driver so you make make believe you're driving the train - obviously a limited number per train - some are at the rear of the train. Book thru the official site - for lots of info on Swiss Passes, trains, scenic trains check out www.swisstravelsystem.com; www.budgeteuropetravel.com and www.ricksteves.com.

VIP seats of course need a first-class upgrade (only) and must be booked months in advance.

Thanks everyone. I am planning to travel on 7th June on this route. I have already reserved the front seats by making the payment. However I will buy a second class 8day rail pass. Therefore what I intend doing is upgrading only for one route that is Zweisimmen to Montreux to First class. The total cost of first class as per SBB is 56CHF while for second class fare is 32CHF. So I presume I would have to pay only 24CHF for the upgrade. Am I right?
Secondly how many days in advance shall I upgrade? and can I do it online? Are there any discounts for 8day pass cos I don't see any discounts as such on SBB.

It will cost 12 CHF/pax and can be bought in the web or at any Swiss railway station up to a few minutes prior to the train departure. The price is always the same.

Hi,
It is showing me CHF 24. There is 50% discount for Half fare Travel Card & GA travel Card. Does any of these two options mean 8 day swiss rail pass?
