I am looking at possibly using the luggage service when we arrive in Switzerland so we can avoid having to go to Bern where we are staying - just to put our luggage there.
According to the website, if you don't drop your bags off by 9am, you can't use the fast luggage service. The other luggage service won't get your bags to you for 2 days.
Has anyone used the luggage service and know if you CAN still use fast luggage service with drop offs after 9am? We don't arrive until 10:00am and then I don't know how long it will take us to get off the plane, collect our luggage and get to the train station. I am guessing we won't be at the train station until about 11:00am.

Hi Jennifer_Scutari,
I use the luggage service all the time.
If you check your luggage using Fast Service after 9am on, say, Monday, it will be considered the same as if you checked it before 09.00 on Tuesday. It will arrive on Tuesday after 18.00.
So, in short, if you check your bags at 11.00 on Monday, they will arrive after 18.00 on Tuesday using Fast Service. If you used regular service, they wouldn't arrive until Thursday.
Hope this is clear.

Thank you swandav2000. I also see a fly/train baggage service. Looks like we wouldn't have to pick up the bags at all if we use this AND our luggage arrives to our Bern station at the end of the same day. Have you used this service before?
Do you know where your luggage is kept in the station? Have you ever lost any luggage with the baggage service?
Hi again,
Yes, I've used this service two times from my US airport. I bought the kit through Raileurope for (I think) about $15.
The kit included a green plastic tag that I attached to the suitcase, and customs forms to put into the tag. I also noted the destination of the bag. I checked the bag at my US airport normally -- the green tag just looks like an additional name tag to the airline crew.
At Zürich airport, the luggage crew recognizes the green tag and routes the bag to the train station, and the bag is on its way to your destination.
The luggage is kept in the left-luggage office at your destination station. You would go to the desk with the icon of a suitcase above it.
Like I said, I've used the service a lot, both ingoing and within Switzerland. I trust it.
Have fun!

Thank you so very much! This saved us a wasted day of travel
