We did this trip two years ago (Santa Teresa di Gallura to Bonifacio) so I did a bit of a search as well. It seems they start on 4 April, so it's a seasonal service. Are your dates locked in or could you go a little later? It is a terrific trip with spectacular views.

You could check with the tourist office there, or your hotel, how much a private trip would cost.

Nope, my dates are locked in,March 23 is the date I need. I find it hard to believe that the local people don`t travel from one island to the other. There must be some way.......

sardegna.com have done it privately from Costa Smeralda in the past not cheap as I recall but check with nice hotels there they will give you best current info. www.aferryto.com will have your ferry options zero as far as I know if not high season. Good luck!

I had no problem pulling up the schedule for March 23 on the Saremar website the first time I tried, but am now getting a web page expired notice.

You can see the March schedules here. I selected the 9:30 departure and it appears the 10:30 departure is not available for your dates. The 2pm and 5pm seem available. The price I found on Saremar was 16 per person.

Yay to kybourbon and Yay to Fodors! This forum is wonderful.

Susielou, hope you have good weather for the crossing, the views of Bonifacio as you approach are really something.
