Supper after "The Last Supper"

I have reservation for "The Last Supper" at 3p on a Tue. I am not family with that area. Are there good restaurants in the vicinity?

We plan to take the express train to/from MXP to see "The Last Supper". After the tour, we will, literally, have our last supper in Italy as we will be flying back home the next morning.

So I figure we will have roughly from 4p to 8p to find a good dinner before heading back to MXP. Is there good restaurant around Santa Maria delle Grazie or Cadorna train station
or do we have to go into the Duomo area? I don't want to wander too far off access back to MXP. And I don't expect fine restaurants around MXP, either.

Price range can be medium to slightly high, but not ultra fancy.

Thanks in advance.

L'Uccelina is nearby and quite good. We stayed near Sta Maria della Grazia for several days and ate there.

No one will be serving dinner in Milan before 8pm. Starting around 5 and 6pm, what you will find in Milan is many cafes and bars serving copious amounts of food as part of an aperitivo hour, where for the price of a drink, you can eat self-serve from a large buffet. If you are traveling with children, they can order soft drinks or juice or non-alcoholic cocktails (usually very good!) but whatever they order, they will be charged the price of a cocktail, usually between 7 and 10 euros.

The Corso Magenta is right near Santa Maria delle Grazie and is a prime spot for the aperitivo hour. Walk along it in the direction of the via Dante, which is also prime grazing territory. There are also many cafes on the via Dante which serve sandwiches and salads and other light meals all through the day, along with pastries, so you can also try that if you want to start eating earlier than 5 or 6pm.

While doing research for my upcoming visit to the Last Supper I found this website, Sauce Milan, which listed a few restaurant options in the area of Piazza Santa Maria della Grazie. However, as sandralist mentions, they don't open for dinner until at the earliest 6:30pm. But you may want to read the information they posted in this blog article: http://saucemilan.com/best-restauran...-supper-milan/

Thanks for the info, everyone.

I enjoy reading http://saucemilan.com/best-restauran...t-supper-milan. Love that Lego setup!

Will definitely check out the pastry shop Pasticceria Marchesi.

Looks like my best bet will be to find aperitivo hour in the area.

In similar situations to yours, we have grabbed a "picnic" to bring back to the hotel with us. Haven't done it in Milan. But in researching here is a great stand with roasted chicken, potatoes and such. Have done that in Paris. Yum! Or you could get cheese, salami, bread and some pasties. Check out a place like Peck's. I'm sure there are a ton of other similar places.
