Sunday breakfast in Co. Clare

Jump to last reply

Beginning to flesh out my 2015 visit to Ireland (#8 for me) with granddaughter and one or both of her parents.

We will undoubtedly land in Shannon early on Sunday morning, collect our rental car and head for Doolin to visit the Cave and take the boat tour of the Cliffs of Moher.

The boat tours are at noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.; the cave tours begin at 11 a.m. and the cafe opens at 10. They have a nature trail but not sure about opening hours.

Can someone suggest someplace along the way (Ennis, perhaps?) to stop for breakfast? Obviously we may have time to kill. It being Sunday morning, will there be anything open or should we just eat in Shannon Airport in the Estuary Restaurant?

Perhaps by the time we collect luggage, pass through Immigration, hit the ATM, and pick up and adjust to our rental car, by the time we reach Doolin we could eat at the Cave.
