Suggestions for South Italy 2-day side trip from Rome

I will be in Rome in March, but want to go on a 2-day side trip to the southern part of Italy. Have been to Naples, Pompei, Positano, Capri.
I will be by myself and plan to travel by public transportation. So, Fodorites, any recommendations where to go for an easy quick 2 night jaunt?
Open to any suggestions.
Thanks

I know it's not southern Italy but how about Florence? I believe it's 1 1/2-2 hours by train depending on the speed of the train. And there's plenty to keep you busy for a couple of days.

Hi again, it's Alex.
Thanks for the replies. Kris, I agree that Florence is a terrific place, but I've been there too, but didn't mention the northern places I've been.

James, in answer to "How far I want to travel?", I guess about 3 hours max away from Rome, in order to give me some time to see where I've decided to end up going.
I will look into those places you listed in your first post.
Thanks, and I'll keep poking around the Italy sites on the WWW.

Alex

I would spend the two nights in Ravello. If you get bored there, you can do a day trip to the Greek Temples at Paestum by public transportation: bus down the hill to Amalfi, another bus to Salerno, then bus or train to Paestum.
