Suggestion for meal near St. Mark's Square, Venice

I visited Venice 6 hears ago and we only had a 2 hour break for lunch on our own. So the 'tour' group went to McDonalds. I'm going back again in June with a School Group and we will have a free afternoon in Venice. This time I would like something other than McDonalds. NOT on the square but somewhere 10-15 min walk with not a lot of twists and turns.....I'm very good at getting lost. Don't want a 3 course meal, something simple. There will be big meals late each evening, but lunch is on our own.
