Stuttgart to St. Goar Vineyard Lunch Stop Suggestion

We will be driving from Stuttgart to St. Goar. Google map says it's just under 3 hours, mostly along A61. I am looking for a good lunch stop along the way. We will have 4 nights staying along the Rhine River so I can save the castle/rhine view for later. On the way back, we'll be spending a night in Rothenburg ob der Tauber.

I'm thinking of the wine road, which I think will be slightly different from St. Goar/Rhine. I have 2 college kids in toll so alfresco lunch in a scenic vineyard might be fun. And nothing too formal (stuffy).

Any suggestion for a town/vineyard lunch spot that's not too far out of the way?

Thanks in advance.
