Strike in Paradors

This will occur on various public holidays here in Spain: Namely 12- 13 October; 2 - 3 November; 7 - 8 December: 31 December 2012 and 1 January 2013.
There are two Paradors which will not be affected they are in Santiago de Compostela and León.
News in Spanish.

Sad that the one industry that could help Spain get out of the hole is also being affected.

You know this is the first time they have ever gone on strike and you talk about tarnished image. That is not fair.
Now if you had written about the quality of the mass produced food (which is not always cooked on site) then I would have said you had a good point.
Talking about The Paradors saving Spain is like saying cutting Big Bird is going to save the economy too.
I do not like strikes but the facts are these workers , without notice, had their salaries cut. Reports are of a round a quarter for the month of September. They have already suffered a reduction in salary. This is not a place for political statements, but I will say times are very hard for Spain. Read the news.

Will there be many people staying in the first two periods? I guess part of a warm up to hurt the company at New Year

Sad news indeed. We took a parador tour last May and have stayed maney times. The paradors in May had few guests. The dinning rooms were 1/3 full with a few exceptions. It was very affordable and we thought great value. I could see they have been letting the mantenance of the buildings slip a little. It wasn't hard to see they were struggling a bit. What does a company do when times are tough? They cut back and I guess thats whats happening.
