Hey!
I will be making a trip from Stockholm -> Istanbul in the beginning/middle of June (in about 2 weeks!), and am looking for the best way to get there while making one stop along the way. I am thinking about giving myself 5 days for the journey. Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and Vienna are three possible locations I have been thinking about visiting.... it appears that flying to Istanbul can be quite expensive, so I am looking for a nice city to visit while also paying a reasonable price for travel. I have been trying to coordinate cities connected by budget airlines (Ryanair, EasyJet, Corendon, etc.) but it has been a complete nightmare! Any recommendations? Thank you very much!

The cheapest I found was ARN to Amsterdam to Istanbul for $354, but this includes all taxes and fees. Also, this not on budget airlines so one bag would likely be included...
I think the cheapest way is to fly direct on Turkish Airlines.
Have you checked connections with Germanwings (via Cologne), Air Berlin (via Berlin) and Niki (via Vienna)? All these airlines fly from Stockholm and Istanbul. Not as cheap as Ryanair, easyJet or Wizz Air though.
It is not easy to find really cheap tickets 2 weeks prior to departure though.
Another airline you should check out is Air Baltic via Riga. I like Riga but it is a smaller city than Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Vienna.
Another airline worth checking out for flights to Istanbul is Pegasus Airlines, a Turkish low cost carrier. You might, for example, find a cheap ticket on Ryanair from Stockholm to Eindhoven or Dusseldorf (for Amsterdam) or on Norwegian from Stockholm to Amsterdam and a ticket on Pegasus from Amsterdam to Istanbul.
Norwegian has cheap flights from Stockholm to many destinations in Europe and Pegasus from many destinations to Istanbul.
