We have 3 days in stockholm and thinking of spending 2 days in stockholm site seeing and possibly a day in side trip(s). If any one can suggest a nice compact itenary for this schedule we will really appreciate! We will be staying near downtown in best western time hotel.

Thanks a lot for all the suggestions.

I had a few days just wandering around town but can't really recommend anything special. Try:

If you fancy a "day out" you can get a train to Uppsala or elsewhere.

I was in Stockholm on a cruise and found this to be a very enjoyable side trip

Mariefred, A picturesque little village with a lake and a castle you can tour. A really nice way to get out of the city

Stockholm is beautiful city - all on water ( lake and sea) ; being able to spend time outdoors ie. the weather , can make for a different impression.

There are several good museum, the Palace, the summer Palace. Old Town ( Gamla Stan), the City Hall etc.

You may wish to take a look at Fodor's to find out what interests you.
