Wondering about the weather. We don't mind cool weather - the better to walk around and not get tired out. But what about rain? And is there really a big difference between late Aug and early Sept? (Slightly cheaper airfare in early Sept.)
stockholm - Early Sept or late Aug - Does it matter?

We were there in early September and it was beautiful, warm, not hot. We didn't have any rain the week we were in Stockholm.
Aug is the traditional holiday month - so many Swedes are in the sunny south or their country cottages - so you should find some hotel bargains.
July is the traditional holiday month, summer holidays comes early in Scandinavia. There isn't much difference weather wise between going late August or early September.
I don't know if would matter to you, but you would have about an hour less daylight if you go in early Sept. rather than late Aug.

It really does not matter.
Thanks everyone. Any suggestions bout a hotel room for around $200 U.S./night?
