I have recently spent a weekend in Stockholm. It was a jammed packed weekend filled with cakes and coffee (lots of), pillaging with vikings, a visit to the Vasa and lots of overpriced beer.
We started the weekend with a trip to the VASA. I have to admit ships are not my thing, though my boyfriend was well impressed. The story of the Vasa is very interesting. I suggest seeing the video at the museum if you have the time.
We did the afternoon walking tour of the Old Town with the Vikings from Gallivant Productions. Great tour, lots of information, we have been laughing about the funny bits and pieces we learnt and will never see a zipper the same way again! Cant recommend this tour highly enough.
Afterward had a few expensive beers at Wirstroms bar in the Old Town. A really cool cellar/medieval bar with great atmosphere.
On Sunday we had a day shopping on the Sodermalm island. There is a spot called SoFo that is very cool (but bring your credit card). Had a cheap brunch at a place called String Cafe.
All in all a great weekend!
Stockholm and the Vikings!
