staying at Trinity College
We are planning our 6th trip to Ireland in May 2009. Several couples will be traveling together. We have always stayed in the St. Stephens Green area for our stay in Dublin. This time we want to stay at Trinity College. How far ahead would we need to book for May 2009?
We would need 3 or 4 ensuite rooms.

I'd call the college now to check - I think May will still be term time so unfortunately there may not be any rooms available. It might depend on when in May you go, but I think the exams are still on until early June so it's unlikely that Trinity will be an option.

Have a look at http://www.d4hotels.ie/ -- superior hotels now in the hands of a developer who is operating them at discounted rates (and reduced level of service) until he gets his development package agreed and contracts signed. Chances are that the project will be slow.

Padraig,
Thank you for your help. I looked at the sight and emailed for rates for the Ballsbridge Inn. Do you know any thing about catching buses to the city center from here? How can I find out about routes? Thank you, again.

I would go for the D4 hotels before the Mercer as they are nicer. A bus is across the road and 5-10 minutes to the centre of town and so easy. Also its a nicer area then the back of the shopping centre which the Mercer is located. I have not been inside the mercer but I think the D4 hotels would be nicer and maybe better value for money.

Thanks for your help about the transportation. I never heard from the Ballsbridge Inn. I am wondering if it is going to be available in May 2009. We hope to have our "cousins" in Wicklow and Tipperary County drive over for dinner one night. Any suggestions on something nice, but not too expensive in the area? The Ballsbridge Inn sounds very nice. I remember riding through the Embassy area.
