stay in Paris or near airport after a week in Provence

We will be flying out of CDG on a 10:00 am flight . Will take the TGV from Provence the day before to return to Paris. Should we spend our last night in Paris, or just get hotel near airport?

In July, we're spending the last night at the Terminus hotel next to the Gare de Lyon (where you arrive), and dining at Train Blue (in the Gare). We've done this several times.

We've also stayed in:
Dijon
Beaune
Chambery
The night before, and taken the very early TGV directly to CDG - but a 10am flight is too early to do this.

Are you flying back to the U.S.?
A taxi ride early in the morning is less than 1 hour from downtown. So the choice is between waking up about one hour earlier to stay in downtown plus taxi (or whatever other transportation) fare vs. staying at the airport.

I don't know how you are starting your trip. If you are also arriving in Paris, staying there a few days and heading to Provence, then doing the Provence first, then returning to Paris later avoids having to make this type of decision.

Myself I like to not be frantic in the morning before a flight. To be at the airport checking in at 8 would be a little rushed in the morning......unless you are quite familiar with transportation, which terminal etc and can communicate a little in French I would stay near the airport.
Hotels in Roissy generally provide shuttles...
Have a wonderful trip.

we had the same dilemma by getting into CDG from VIchy late afternoon on Friday with a late am flight to Boston

elected to stay in Le Thillay at Hotel Le Celtric after good reviews and easy pick up and back if need be or take the local bus at Terminal 2. good restuarant or go out in the village!! time to repack and cool it not far from CDG - went through Booking.com for this hotel.

Two years ago we stayed at the Hilton before flying home the next morning. There was a free shuttle to the airport (although there was a bit of a wait for an open shuttle). Still the room was quiet and comfortable and we ended up getting a a good rate. We too came up from Provence the day before and although we could have gone in and had one last night back in Paris we felt it was worth the ease of being able to shuttle to the airport in the morning that made up for getting that last night in Paris. No regrets.
