Stansted to Heathrow Coach?

How much time should I budget for an international flight (from Canada) into Heathrow Airport and a Ryanair departure out of Stansted (to Italy)? What is the cost of the coach from Heathrow to Stansted?

Journey takes either 85 or 100 minutes, depending on the bus. Frequency is between 20 and 60 minutes, depending on the hour.

One-way, £20 ; R/T, £25.

Search for timetable at:
www.nationalexpress.co.uk

Make sure you leave a lot of time because Ryanair requires you to be checked-in 40 minutes prior, and they are strict about this. If you miss it, you generally have to pay for another ticket.

...and remember to allow time for the incoming plane's being late, for the at least an hour it will take a non-European to clear immigration and collect bags during the peak early morning North Atlantic arrival period, and for the reasonable possibility traffic will make your journey round one of Europe's busiest roads slower than the timetable.

At least 3 hours from scheduled touch down to check in at Stansted. 4 to be safe.

Good info so far. But I would allow even more time - maybe 5 hours. Given the vagaries of gate availability, baggage collection from a jumbo, etc, you could be anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours at LHR before boarding the coach to Stansted. (If you don't have checked luggage, things would be simpler)

If you were flying one of the "full fare" carriers w/ several flights a day and laxer rules about check in you could cut it closer. Byt Ryanair is very strict about checking in on time.
