St. Petersburg - Canal Boat Rides

Hi
I will be in St. Petersburg for 3 days in May. We have one free afternoon and friends of ours suggested that we take a boat ride from the Hermitage to Peterhof. Has anyone used a good boat company that you would suggest?
Thank You.

I believe there is just one company. It is a high speed boat. Looked like a fun way to get to Peterhof.

By the way, you may have the Canal boats confused with the high speed boats (catamarans?) that go to Peterhof. There are lots of different canal boat companies but they do tours of the canals. They do not go to Peterhof. They are all very similar. Just be sure to join an English language tour unless you don't care if you understand the commentary.

Hello Lauren

Thanks alot.
I did not realize there were different kinds of boat. I like the idea of high speed though.
Thanks again.

When I was there we took a hydrofoil to Peterhof out on the Gulf of Finland. It was a great way to get out there and the grounds and palace are excellent.

Hello All,
Thank you for all the great suggestions.

I have on more question:

Does anyone know when the Hydrofoil to Peterhof begins in the month of May, the exact date?
I read on a few web sites the middle of May and I hope that I am not in St. Petersburg to early. I will be there for the ride on May 14th as that is my free afternoon is.
Thank You.

Hi

No need to reply.
I found out on trip advisor that the Hydrofoil starts around May 9th so I now have my question answered.
I will be able to ride the Hydrofoil to Peterhof after all.

Anyone needing info it rides until early October for anyone going in the Fall.
Thanks again for everyone's help.
