St. Emillion/Bordeaux/Dordogne trip in October?
We are considering a bike trip to this area in early October and then several days in the Sarlat area. Is October a good time to go or would we be better off in September?
Thanks In advance for any advice.

Do you mean a good time to go weatherwise or another reason?
The weather will be unpredictable but not too cold and the towns won't be too busy with tourists. We went to St Emilion and could hardly move in July! It's harvest time for the grapes so it might be good to check on the local festivals and time your visits accordingly.

They're predicting an exceptional autumn for this year, so September and October are likely to have the perfect weather for your trip. However, if you want to play it safe, September always has a better shot of sunshine and warmer temperatures than October.
