ViaMichelin shows the distance between St Come du Mont to Pontorson (closest mainland town) to be 126kms with an estimated driving time of around 1hour 20 mins. So for a day out that's OK.

But Limoges is just too far away for a day trip. St Come du Mont to Limoges is 560 kms, that's 6 hours of driving - just one way!

Too far out for a base for what?

Whatever, it's certainly nowhere near Limoges.
