Spartak in Sofia

sorry, no we didn't. when I read your post, i thought that we were talking about something like the baths in Budapest, but it looks as if it's really a modern sports complex with a pool:

The write up makes it sound as if the outdoor pool is popular in the summer - hardly a surprise - but I doubt that it's going to be swamped with tourists, if that's what you're worried about.
We loved Sofia when we spent 4 nights there about 18 months ago [we went for a wedding] - I hope you enjoy it too.

Just back from (beautiful) Bulgaria. Spartek was an older facility, but very clean with two pools. One 100 meter for serious laps and a smaller, warmer pool also for laps. Cost 12 leva and a 6 leva deposit for the locker key. Some staff members spoke English, some didn't. The pools (indoor and outdoor) in Varna were also great. (newer and less expensive)
