I am looking at bus schedules on this website:-
http://www.ctsa-portillo.com/ima/pdf/malaga-estacion.pdf
I would like to visit Gibraltar as a day trip. I could be wrong, but it appears that the arrival time isn't listed on the timetable. Is this correct? How do I know I am not travelling on a slow bus that stops in alot of towns enroute?

The timetable says that the duration of the trip is 3 hours.
Even those services marked in yellow that do 3 additional stops on that route probably won't need that much longer because of that.
justshootme,
Not less than three hours each way is a long day trip.
Best wishes.
There are a few companies in and around the city of Málaga that arrange trips to Gibratar, if your heart is set on it. They are much quicker than taking the bus, but a lot more expensive unless you have a small group.

Maybe taking the direct bus to Algeciras, only 90 min, and then a bus/taxi to Gib.
why? i went there for a day about 30 years ago and there wasn't much to write home about then. with so much else to do in the area, why Gibraltar?
Thanks for the replies.
Robert2533, thank you for the links, unfornately this is too expensive option for a solo traveller.
josele, is there a reliable frequent bus from Algeciras to La Linea? What would be the price of a taxi from Algerciras to La Linea? (I am assuming that the vehicles can't cross the border, but I could be wrong).
Why Gibraltar, I've been to Andalusia twice and both times I intended to visit Gibraltar but just didn't have a chance. I agree Andalusia has alot to offer. I'm hoping to get to Gibraltar on my upcoming trip.
Buses between Algeciras and La Linea generally run every half hour:

There is also a boat service from Algeciras to Gibraltar:
