Spain Itinerary 2014 help/recommendations
Hey Guys I am new to this forum and love reading through all the topics I am 21 and just came back from a 3 and a half month trip to Europe this year. Let me tell you it was amazing and a trip report will come one day. I am planning on heading to Spain next year for approximately 4 weeks as I did not head there this year as I feel Spain would need to be done by itself as it looks fabulous. Anyways here is my planned itinerary and I am a fast mover and will be taking buses and trains. Any help with bus websites will be appreciated and changes or recommendations to towns/cities etc will be helpful Please note I spent only one day in many towns on my previous trip arriving there at 11:00 am and this was plenty of time for me and think it is enough for some places.
May 1-3 -Barcelona(arrive 12:00 p.m airport)

The main bus website is http://www.alsa.es One night stands o not allow you to see any city. I would suggest a minimum of 2 nights.

You've selected some wonderful places, but I'm not sure when you plan on actually traveling from place to place. You WILL lose time each time you relocate. Of the places you hope to see, I thought Salamanca deserved at least 2 full days, Madrid 4 full days, Segovia 1 day, Toledo 2 full days, Cordoba 2 full days, Granada 2 full days, and Sevilla a minimum of 3 full days. But you haven't said anything about your interests, so I don't think we can really say how much time you might want to have. Good luck!

Thank you riberiasacra for the website appreciate it. My interest and mainly old towns, plaza and cobblestone streets. And yes I love cathedrals and palaces.I will take Salamanca into account as my research keeps telling me to do two days. Cordoba and Granada will almost be two full days as will szeville almost be three full days thank you for you're recommendations kja

BTW, The Rough Guide and The Lonely Planet generally cover transportation options (and especially bus options) more thoroughly than most other guide books. Investing in them, or going through them at a local library, may be of great value to you.

These are all amazing places! If you're confident about the speed of travel, go for it--just be prepared to spend a lot of time getting between your destinations. The bus companies vary depending on where you are in the country--i.e. Alsa will get you between a lot of these cities, but I don't believe they have any service between Madrid and Salamanca.
When you are traveling with Alsa, check the prices on the "Supra" buses--they're ridiculously comfortable and sometimes only cost a couple euros more than the regular bus (the price depends on the route). Also, keep in mind that for some of these routes you'll want to book tickets a couple days ahead of time.

Are you sure you'll never ever in your whole life get back to Spain? At this pace, you will get barely a glance at some gems that deserve more time to let them soak in for lasting impressions. Yes it can be done, but you're likely to have a blur of memories instead of distinct lasting ones.
If there is the slightest chance for another visit later on, do half of this list and give it twice the time.

thank you kja and travelgiftlist thoroughly appreciate it. I've been looking into bus schedules and distances and pricing and all seems well to me, yes there may be a few longer rides but I am looking forward to it. Michael as I mentioned I just came back from a trip and love my fast pace walking but still manging to take all the sights in. This is my last chance to travel for a while so I want to see as much as possible. If only we could travel 24/7 haha. I will make the most of my time spent there
