Spain 4 weeks w 5 kids

Jump to last reply

Hi I am traveling to Spain with my husband and five kids at the end of the month. We will be traveling for a little over a month. My eldest is eleven and my youngest is 10 months. We've travelled extensively w the kids including spending a month in SE Asia. This trip is very last minute and I haven't planned anything other than my international flights- we are landing in and leaving from Madrid. I'd like to stay in five different places and see as much of the country as possible.
We stay in apartments and want to know if anyone has good apartment web sites for me to browse.
I also need an itinerary.
So far I'm thinking of spending some time in Madrid when we first land, getting acquainted and maybe doing a day trip to Toledo. Then heading up north to the San Sebastián/ Bilbao area. Where to stay up there? I hear the beaches there are fantastic. Then maybe going somewhere in the Pyrenees? Again not sure exactly where. After that making my way to Barcelona and spending some time there. Neighborhood? And then flying south and maybe getting an apartment in Seville. Can I explore Gibraltar and the south from Seville or should I plan on spending some time down there before Seville? Then back to Madrid to fly home.
I know it's a lot of run around but I think locating myself in five places in four and a half weeks is doable. Also when do I rent a car and when does it pay to take the train?
So Madrid, north, Pyrenees, Barcelona, south, Seville or cordoba
What do you think? Is it too much? If so what would you cut?
Also time is of the essence, obviously. Thanks!
