I just have to say, I'm really enjoying reading all the posts on these Fodors forums! Everyone is so helpful, friendly and informative, its really rather addictive!

So, another somewhat frivolous topic: As I mentioned in my previous posts, I'm planning to travel to Italy, France and Austria next summer. Specifically, I'll be going to Paris, Nice, Cinque Terre and Venice, And then The Salzkammergut region in Austria. can anyone suggest anything specific I should pick up as a memento from any of these places? I really would like to get something special and unique to the areas I'll be in (how original of me, right? ;) ). What do you think I should look for?

Some limitations: I don't buy leather, so that's out, and I hope to take only a carry on bag with me on this trip, so whatever I pick up would have to be small, easy to transport and of course, minimal liquids...I'll be bringing it back to Canada if that makes a difference.

Also, will you tell me about your favorite souvenirs from your travels over the years?

Thanks for sharing!
