Southern Portugal vs Sicily: Second half of March
Hey all, my wife and I (both 34 y.o.) are looking for a destination in Europe for about 10 days in the second half of March. We would like something warm, and hence narrowed it down to southern Portugal or Sicily. We've never been to Portugal but many times to Italy. (Mostly Northern parts though.) We want good warm weather and maybe visit some wineries.
Any takes on what is the better place to visit are very welcome!
Cheers,
George

To me to spend 10 days I'd take Sicily over the Algarve (southern Portugal) because to me there was much more to see and do in Sicily from a seaside base but the Algarve is largely high-rise hotels catering to northern Europeans - Sicily seems more subdued and again has a lot of neat sights.
Now if southern Portugal means Lisbon and Evora, etc that's a different story.

never been to portugal but taking care of that this may - 3 weeks in southwest spain and a week in portugal. last may we spent 3 week wandering sicily and it was perhaps our favorite in 45 years of travel. had a car and wandered central, south and eastern sicily. not sure if south portugal is worth 10 days although not far from the andalucia, another option for all 10 of your trip.
