Southern Europe in August?
We are thinking taking a trip from Barcelona to Paris in August. We plan to take the train from Barcelona to Carcassone and rent a car there for touring the Pyrenees Mountains and the Dordogne before flying home from Toulouse. We have always avoided this part of the workd in the summertime, but my husband always has his vacation during the entire month of August, and I thought it would be a good oppoprtunity to really take our time. Are we nuts?

No, you're not nuts. It will be hot. It will be humid. There will likely be some congestion on the roads and more tourist busses than usual. But you will be able to see some of the most beautiful scenery in France. It's worth it.

hi
during the day it will probably reach 30C to 40C (say .... 86F to 104F), maybe a little more.
But it is not that humid. We are frequently below 30%.
Worst I've experienced (other than on the equator) was Detroit at 100F & 97%, more comfortable was Death Valley at 120F & 5%.
