South of Venice

Jump to last reply

We will arrive in Venice about 5 days before a start of a cruise. We plan to rent a car and go to Tuscany, coming back to Venice the day before we leave. We spent a week in Venice last year so we want to venture out this year. I found a great place in Montepulciano which is about a 3.5 hour ride from Venice. We don't want to do this jet lagged so we hoped to find something charming on the way ....about an hour south....so we can nap, recover, eat, stroll, and be refreshed for the next day. Any advice? Going north in the Veneto has been suggested, but I'd rather be en route.
