Sorrento/Amalfi Coast - Sunday Mass

We'll be taking a private car tour from Sorrento to Paestum on a Sunday and would like to attend Catholic mass at a memorable church. Any recommendations, keeping in mind we start in Sorrento and head toward Paestum.

I'm not Catholic, so my suggestion has nothing to do with the mass itself. But if I was Catholic, I'd go to Amalfi but more for the position of the church in the town than for its "grandiosity" or whatever.

When we were there and having lunch on the church piazza, a newly married couple spent about an hour having their pictures taken on the church steps and at the fountain in the piazza. Everyone applauded when the couple arrived and departed. It felt very small-townish even though there were many tourists in the piazza.

Both the churches in Amalfi and Positano are quite lovely inside and out. The Amalfi cathedral is much larger and grander (as Amalfi was the most important town) and is medieval and a bit dark, the Positano cathedral is smaller, baroque and ornate and is white and light. The views from the Positano cathedral (from the small piazza) are quite lovely. In terms of access by car, it would be easier and involve much less walking uphill and down on your part to go to the cathedral in Amalfi, as your car and driver will only be able to take you so far down in Postiano, and the cathedral there is located toward the bottom of the hill. You would need to check mass schedules for both to time it to your itinerary. Or course mass will be in Italian, it is unlikely they have English masses, but that is a possibility. Your hotel should have info on mass times and whether there are English masses, or the limo company may have this info.
