Yes, and our hotel arranged tours for us. Look at http://www.aminta.it/organized.htm for a list of the possibilities.<BR><BR>You can also take public transportation (bus, train, and boat) to the places you want to visit on your own.

I'm afraid I don't have info about the company. The concierge at the hotel arranged our tour. We took the Amalfi Coast tour and it was great. The next time we stayed at the Aminta we took our own trip by SITA bus and it was fun as well. There are also boat trips you can take. I'm sure if you email the hotel they will help you. Gianfranco, the hotel owner, has been very helpful to me when I've referred friends his way.

There are several travel agencies along the Corso d'Italia (the main street) that advertise day trips by bus in the window. I took one that combined Pompeii and Vesuvius. I can't remember how much it was, maybe $35. Others on this forum spend a whole day doing Pompeii, but I was happy with my tour. I think you'll find many opportunities to sign up for a tour.

Steve, thanks for the heads up. Did you take the tour to Cassino? Did you take it from a tour company or a travel agent? Do you know how I could perhaps book it in advance. I tried to get there last year and did not have enough time, don't want to miss it this time. Thanks for your help.

Barb - You can book online with any of the travel agencies, e.g<BR>Scenic Travel (Piazza Tasso,3)<BR>www.scenictravel.it/escursioni/home.htm<BR>(e-mail: [email protected])<BR><BR>Their website is in Italian, but they will send you a list of all their tours in English. They quote EURO 33.00 for the Caserta/Cassino tour, excluding admission charges. <BR><BR>Their Naples/Solfatara tour is also listed at EURO 33.00.<BR><BR>They offer a small discount for e-mail bookings.<BR><BR>Hope this helps ...<BR><BR>Steve<BR><BR>
