Solo woman travel

Hi

I am planning for a trip to Europe in mid June, not sure where to go yet.
i have been to Italy - Rome, Florence,Venice, France-Paris , Nice, and London.
So I dont plan to go back to go to those places. Although i love Venice.
What I love is the food, culture, romantic beautiful scenery of Venice, so this is something i want to look for my upcoming trip.

I am also looking for nice beautiful nature scenery, that can give me some chance to think and enjoy the moment.
i am planning to go for 7-10 days, depending where i go.

this trip is more about experience, so i am planning to live in hostels, backpack.

i am also looking for a female travel buddy. anyone interested?
anyone has any suggestions? priority is safety.

now i am thinking about going to Vienna, and Amsterdam?switzerland? prague?

pls help? advises pls

If you're looking for a buddy, Lonely Planet has a section where you can find travel companions. And they finally reinstated their private message system.

Switzerland has what you want but the pries are shockingly high for anything. If your budget will cover it, then head there.

If you want something more moderately priced consider Amsterdam and then heading down the Rhine and Moselle, perhaps stop in Strasbourg and Trier and return home from Frankfurt.

Vienna and Austria would be a good choice, cheaper than Switzerland, but with some of the same kind of scenery.

You talk about scenery but mention mostly cities. Do you mean countryside scenery or are you more interested in staying in cities? Maybe seeing the scenery as you travel by train or bus between cities?

Assuming you want to get out into the countryside but don't want to drive, pick countries with excellent public transportation. Even though it's expensive, Switzerland comes first to mind. You can get all over that country by train and bus and boat, more area than you can see with a car. If you decide to go to Switzerland, look into passes. Other countries with good public transportation are Germany and the Netherlands. I like Amsterdam, but the Netherlands doesn't have the dramatic scenery of the other countries.

If you don't find a travel partner, it's still possible to do this by yourself. Search this forum for solo woman trip reports.

And with only 7 to 10 days, limit yourself to 1 or 2 countries at most. Otherwise you won't have much chance to slow down and "enjoy the moment."

Another vote for Austria, besides Vienna I like Innsbruck and Zell-am-See, and Hallstatt, although it is very touristy. In the same area I really like Budapest. You could also consider Slovenia and Croatia.

I loved the whole Salzburg + Salzkammergut region, the scenery is absolutely beautiful, plus there's a hostel in Salzburg. And ofcourse all of this is cheaper than Switzerland.
You can have a look at my page on Austria : ashwinbahulkar.wordpress.com/my-travels-2/central-europe-austria-and-czech-republic/austria-and-prague/
Within 10 days, maybe 3 days for PRague and Vienna each, and about 4 for Salzburg and surroundings. And an upvote for thursdaysd's recommendations, especially Halstatt.
