Solo Travel to Spain in December
Greetings fellow travelers!
I am a 36/singe/male and have never traveled alone and never been to Europe. I plan on going to Spain alone in December for 2 weeks and the cities I intend to cover are: Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Grenada (part road-trip, part public transport).
My 2 main questions are:
1. Is it a good idea to travel to Spain in December (weather wise)? I understand the weather won't be very warm; but won't be very cold either.
2. Is it ok to travel to Spain alone? I am afraid I won't come across too many back-packers given that it's not a peak travel period.
Any tips greatly appreciated!

For average climate statistics, consult any good guidebook or wunderground.com
With 2 weeks, your itinerary sound ambitious, if potentially do-able; no need for a car -- consider public transportation only. As a starting point, consult rome2rio.com
I'm a woman and I've spent a total of 7.5 weeks alone in Spain without difficulty. That said, I have not traveled as a backpacker and was not looking to meet others en route. For some information about solo travel, you might want to browse:

Spain is an excellent country to travel alone, you'll meet all kinds of people - alone and in groups - standing and eating and having a glass of something in the tapas bars that are all around. Have lived and traveled alone much in Spain and loved it. I think it's a great idea if you have the time. Spain has a lot of interesting parts and the high-speed train makes it fairly easy to get between some major points. At least the weather will be more moderate than some northern countries, even if it is winter. Of course, they do have ski resorts in Spain but I don't think it will be a problem where you plan to go, but not sure about Granada. One of their ski resorts is right near Granada but in the Sierra Nevada national park just south of it. OF course we have ski resorts within a few hours of where I live but December weather is pretty mild anyway (and usually no skiing then). Barcelona should be moderate being on the sea. I think your issue about the travel alone is mainly whether you'll meet other backpackers and I can't really answer that one. I think early December is a low period for tourism in Europe (and lots of places, actually). I've traveled all the places you name alone and it was great but I wasn't looking to make friends, either. The places you name have a lot of tourists all the time, so could be good that not as many crowds.

Are you going to do this early December or around the holidays? Because sometimes there can be price and other issues around Christmas/NY period in some cities.
