Solo travel in Provence vs Cote D'Azur
Hi All,
I will be in Cannes attending the Creativity Festival in mid-June, and am taking two weeks to vacation after that (June 23-July 6). For the first week I'll be on my own, joined by my boyfriend for the second week. I'm interested in seeing Provence and exploring the Cote D'Azur further, and am wondering if anyone can offer advice on whether one or the other regions would be more comfortable to explore alone or if there's a higher likelihood of meeting up with other solo travelers in one or the other.
Many thanks in advance for your replies,
Kate

I would want to take advantage of the public transit options [trains and buses] in Cote d'Azur for the solo week. Easy to get around to visit nearby villages and sites. Not nearly as easy in areas of Provence outside of Nice [Nice is in Provence]. [need a car] and I would want to save the romance of Provence - The Luberon, in particular - to the week with boyfriend!
Here is my almost completed TR from last fall, which talks about Nice, day trips from there and then Provence. The gite we stayed at is in the thread. It is perfectly located for visiting villages through out The Luberon area of Provence.
