Solo female with 3 days in Reykjavik

Jump to last reply

So I was using Reykjavik as a stopover from Boston to Paris and decided to stretch it into a few days there to see a little of Iceland-- why not, right?! It's going to be at the end of June, so summer time of course. I'm staying in a hostel that seems to be in a great location in town, called Reykjavik Backpackers. I chose a hostel because of price- whew hotels for just me alone were pricey. So being there 3 full days I'm asking anyone experienced what things I shouldn't miss? I'm already kind of planning one day seeing Reykjavik, one day doing the Golden Circle tour (can someone enlighten me on what exactly this entails as there seems to be different ones..) and then the third day maybe blue lagoon or a horseback riding trip. How is whale watching in summer? Thanks for any help, I'll be alone but want to have fun and see all the beautiful sights!
