Soccer/Football in Verona

My 9 yr old son is a soccer player and would like to join training or a camp while we are visiting Verona. We would also like to see some matches. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you.

I forgot to mention we will be there the end of May through the end of July 2013. Thank you again.

Hi Kelly,

Nice idea! however, it is likely that any courses will be run for the benefit of locals and therefore the instruction will be in italian. but you are going to be there during italian school holidays so there might be something on offer.

I found this one by searching for "corso di calcio a verona" [courses in football in Verona] but it is limited to players from the age of 15 upwards, so no use for you.

I think that the local tourist information office will be your best bet.

a bit more searching found me this:

http://www.insportsrl.it/centro-spor...t-golosine.php

they don't have any courses specifically in football, but they do run summer camps for 5-14 year olds, which seem to be on a weekly basis. [there's a link to the enrolment form for last year which will give you an idea of hours and costs]. as you're going to be there for some time, you might I suppose try enrolling your son for one week and seeing how it goes.

good luck!

Thank you annhig. I am hoping that soccer will be language in itself but it may be to stressful. We were initially going to be there earlier in May it just doesn't seem that that will work. Thank you for your suggestions.

no problem, Kelly.

i hope that you find something to entertain your son.

you're lucky to have so long to stay in one place - a real luxury.

I have looked up some soccer camps and was wondering if anyone had any information on local training or camps for youth that may not be easily found on the internet. We are looking for an authentic training experience not a tourist type. Thank you for any info you may share.
